We are excited to be partnering with Community Action Team, Inc, NW Healthy Families, and Head Start to bring Laura Van Dernoot Lipsky, founder and director of The Trauma Stewardship Institute, to our region for a FREE training!
At The Trauma Stewardship Institute, they focus on raising awareness of and responding to the cumulative toll on those who are exposed to the suffering, hardship, crisis, or trauma of humans, living beings, or the planet itself.
The Institute was founded in 2011 by Laura van Dernoot Lipsky, author of Trauma Stewardship: An Everyday Guide to Caring for Self While Caring for Others.
Their expertise lies in:
Raising awareness of the cumulative toll on individuals, organizations, institutions, movements, communities, and society as a whole as a result of being exposed to suffering, hardship, crisis or trauma
Facilitating conversations on systematic oppression and liberation theory
Responding to acute trauma, whether individual or collective
At the Institute, their aim is to create a larger, cross-disciplinary movement that helps decrease isolation and works toward building a critical mass of those striving for sustainability
